Sarah Atherton welcomed the Home Secretary, Priti Patel, to the Constituency on Tuesday.
They got together at the ground of Brickfield Rangers – a club with over thirty years' experience of promoting sport in the community who work with JM Recruitment Education & Training in helping young people get a foot on the career ladder in education, training and sport.
Speaking afterward, Sarah said: “It was a pleasure to welcome The Home Secretary to the Constituency; showcasing the amazing work that goes on at Brickfields and its commitment to young people and our community”.
Brickfield Rangers is based in Wrexham. Players from under 5's to 19 years of age, and of all abilities, are encouraged to enjoy football, with over 24 teams competing and benefitting from the advantages regular exercise provides.
In addition, Brickfields runs its own Youth coaching scheme enrolling and educating its youth players, who would like to progress their coaching education. Part of this apprenticeship involves outreach work in schools and provides young people with qualifications, which they can take forward in their chosen careers.
Afterwards, the Home Secretary wished Sarah well with her campaign and said: “It is great to be here in Wrexham supporting our fantastic candidate, Sarah Atherton. She is working hard to raise this constituency out of the hands of Labour and give people living here some real choice and representation.”
