This week, Conservative MP for Wrexham Sarah Atherton visited the Albuhera Companies, part of Clwyd and Gwynedd Cadets, summer camp in Kinmel Park Camp. During the day, she chatted to the cadets and staff, and observed the final phases of the fieldcraft exercise. Sarah even became one of the hostages being rescued by the cadets!
As an Army veteran and a member of the Defence Select Committee, Sarah said she had "really welcomed the opportunity, not only as the local MP but also as a member of the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme to visit the first of the Clwyd and Gwynedd summer camps and to meet up with some local Wrexham cadets. It was great to see the next generation of our Armed Forces and how they are inspired by our military."
Commenting on Sarah's visit, Commandant Col Martin L Craven said “it was a pleasure to welcome Sarah to our camp and to be able to highlight what the Army Cadets has to offer. Despite the many ongoing restrictions, we were able to show why annual camp is so popular with cadets.”
