On Thursday 18th March you will have the opportunity to vote for a new councillor to represent our area on Wrexham County Borough Council. I am standing as Wrexham Conservatives' candidate and am determined to do what I can to make our part of Wrexham an even better place to live, work and raise a family.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic I can't knock on doors and talk to residents, or deliver leaflets by hand, so I wanted to email you and let you know about my priorities for our area. Please let me know what you think, and if there's anything else I should focus on, by clicking here and completing my survey.
Looking after our environment:
Wrexham Council is responsible for encouraging biodiversity in public spaces. I want our grass verges, trees and open spaces to be welcoming for birds, bees, plants and insects. I will also work with residents and the council to keep our community clear of litter and fly tipping.
Speaking up on planning applications:
It is important for local opinions to be taken into consideration when planning applications are considered by the council. The planning process is a legal process, free of party politics. I will represent your views when contentious applications are debated.
Delivering value for money:
Local services have been chronically underfunded by the Labour-led Welsh Government for years. Despite this, Wrexham’s council tax in our area is almost £200 cheaper than in Plaid Cymru controlled Gwynedd and almost £300 cheaper than in neighbouring Labour controlled Cheshire West and Chester.* I will continue to campaign for good quality services, whilst keeping council tax as low as possible.
To help me deliver on my priorities for Maesydre, I'd like to know what you think. Please complete my survey.
