Responding to ONS figures showing no deaths registered involving Covid-19 in Wales for the first week since the pandemic began, Welsh Conservative shadow health minister, Russell George MS said:
“After the tragedy and difficulties of the past year, this is fantastic news.
“Despite the presence of the Delta variant in Wales, these figures demonstrate the great success of the vaccination programme in protecting our people against life-threatening illness. The end is in sight, but it’s clear we will have to learn to live with the virus moving forward.
“It’s now important Labour ministers provide families, workers and businesses across Wales with a roadmap out of restrictions like we’ve seen in England and Scotland.”
