Sam Rowlands MS for North Wales has expressed his delight that Wrexham is to benefit from investment in the armed forces.
Mr Rowlands was commenting on the Army’s Restructuring statement which announced an increase in the army footprint in Wales.
He said:
“I am absolutely delighted with today’s announcement of £320 million investment in the armed forces in Wales and in particular what it means for Wrexham.
“The strategy announced will see the basing of a Reserve Unit in North Wales, Wrexham, which will increase the Military footprint in the region which has historically had a more sparse presence.
“We will also see more army units based in Wales, with 7.3% of army personnel being based here.”
